The Cramptons were behind some of Dublin’s most distinguished buildings, including embassies and hotels. Now one of their finest homes has come to market
New house hunters to the Dublin market are often somewhat confused when they hear the term ‘Crampton built’. For the uninitiated, the term refers to the family-run construction company set up by George J Crampton in 1879, later becoming G&T Crampton when George formed a partnership with his nephew Tom in 1905. Two Cramptons remain managing directors of the company today.
