The Minister for Agriculture has endorsed European Commission plans to end a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ on genetically modified (GM) material in animal feed imports.

The Minister for Agriculture has endorsed European Commission plans to end a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ on genetically modified (GM) material in animal feed imports.

The move will allow the entry of shipments containing trace amounts of GM seeds approved in the exporting country, but pending authorisation by the European Food Safety Authority.
