Court says OFT can probe Ryanair stake in Aer Lingus

Aer Lingus has welcomed a judgement by the British Court of Appeal that the Office of Fair Trading is "in time" to investigate Ryanair’s minority shareholding in Aer Lingus under merger control legislation.

Aer Lingus has welcomed a judgement by the British Court of Appeal that the Office of Fair Trading is "in time" to investigate Ryanair’s minority shareholding in Aer Lingus under merger control legislation.

The Court of Appeal’s judgement confirms the validity of the OFT’s decision to commence its investigation into Ryanair’s minority shareholding in September 2010, a decision which was previously upheld by the Competition Appeal Tribunal in July 2011....
