Court-appointed child guardian earned €317,000

Several former social workers were paid large six-figure sums by the HSE to represent children in court last year with the highest earner paid €317,000.

Several former social workers were paid large six-figure sums by the HSE to represent children in court last year with the highest earner paid €317,000.

Figures provided by the HSE show the highest earning individual was paid €317,000 in 2013, while the next highest was paid €297,000 (see panel).

A number of the top earners were previously employed as social workers for the HSE, while others held management positions with the Executive.
