County managers have warned that businesses are likely to face higher water bills following the establishment of Irish Water.

They have argued that businesses are not paying the full cost of providing water services, which are being subsidised by the state.

And they have warned that more of the costs will fall on businesses and households as the level of government funding for water services is reduced.
