Councils to target landlords over non-payment of household charge

Local authorities will swoop on landlords for non-payment of the household charge from April 1 drawing on two databases to immediately identify non-compliance.

Local authorities will swoop on landlords for non-payment of the household charge from April 1 drawing on two databases to immediately identify non-compliance, The Sunday Business Post has learned.

Council officials are preparing to target 250,000 tenancies from the Private Residential Tenancies Board, as well as the Non-Principal Private Residence (NNPR), which has 35,000 individuals registered as owning more than one property.
