A construction firm that operated an illegal dump in north Dublin has been awarded several lucrative contracts by the local council, including one worth €2.3 million.

A construction firm that operated an illegal dump in north Dublin has been awarded several lucrative contracts by the local council, including one worth €2.3 million.

Owenbee Construction disposed of building and construction waste at a site near its head office in Donabate, Co Dublin. The company shut down the site in 2003 after being served with a cessation order by Fingal County Council under the Waste Management Acts.
