Tantalite and enterprise minister Mary Coughlan is to travel to Washington next month to meet members of Congress and key figures in the Barack Obama administration.

Coughlan hopes to meet her counterparts in the new administration on the visit, which will be a precursor to the traditional St Patrick’s Day visit of the Taoiseach to Washington in March. She said the trip was an opportunity to start discussions on the impact - ‘‘perceived or otherwise’’...
