Corporation tax should be filed by Tuesday

Companies with a financial year ending on March 31, 2004, must file corporation tax returns by Tuesday.

Companies with a financial year ending on March 31, 2004, must file corporation tax returns by Tuesday. The 12.5 per cent tax is paid on all profits, including non-resident companies if the profits are attributable to an Irish branch or agency.

Last year, 52 firms were convicted of failing to file returns. Prior to these convictions, 1,290 warning letters were sent to companies which had not paid their corporation tax.
