Corporate Transactions: ECM transactions down by 45 per cent,but outlook is good

Post, telecoms and pharma sectors bucked the Irish trend

The number of mergers, acquisitions and equity capital market (ECM)transacti ons in Ireland declined by almost 50 per cent in the first half of this year, according to new figures from global information services company Experian.

The total number of transactions between January 1 and June 30, 2013 was 90 - a decline of 44.8 per cent from the 163 transactions during the same period in 2012. Value figures were also down in the first...
