Cork's Crawford gets AIB art worth €5 million

UPDATE: AIB is donating 39 pieces of art worth €5 million to the state and is also making available 1,000 additional artworks for public exhibition.

AIB is donating 39 works of art from its collection to the state, representing a total estimated value of €5 million.

The bank is also making available for public display a further collection of some 1,000 works - worth collectively another €5 million.

The announcement of the transfer was made by Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan, who confirmed that the works will now form part of the Cork Crawford gallery's collection.
