The Cork to Swansea ferry service is to close with the loss of 78 jobs and expected losses of €30 million in direct tourist spending in the Munster region and over €20 million in the South Wales region.

The Cork to Swansea ferry service is to close with the loss of 78 jobs and expected losses of €30 million in direct tourist spending in the Munster region and over €20 million in the South Wales region.

The owners of the Fastnet Line service, the West Cork Tourism Co-Operative Society Limited, said that it had been unable to raise adequate funds and the examinership of the company had failed.
