Motorists in Cork are likely to escape a toll in the Jack Lynch Tunnel until the completion of the South Ring Road (SSR) interchange in two years’ time.
The National Roads Authority (NRA) drew up a list of revenue-raising measures for the government last October, and these included proposals for tolls on the tunnel that runs under the River Lee, along with the Southern Ring Road.
