Cork 2012: Exporters in pole position

Export-led businesses are leading the charge in Cork's indigenous economy, according to Anthony Reidy, partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

Export-led businesses are leading the charge in Cork's indigenous economy, according to Anthony Reidy, partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

"Export-minded businesses are opening themselves up to greater opportunities and better investment prospects, whether it's by exporting or by supplying the FDI companies that have come to Cork. That trend is a rising tide," Reidy said.

Reidy has seen some older Cork companies moving in the export direction, finding new suppliers and new customers and "sacrificing historical allegiances"...
