Consumers switched off, says energy regulator
The Commission for Energy Regulation has blamed lower customer switching levels on inertia, writes Emma Kennedy.
The energy regulator is to conduct a public consultation on consumer switching later this year. According to a new report on the gas market by the Commission for Energy Regulation (Cer), switching levels, which are decreasing, are a "source of concern".
Cer's report, which considered the retail gas market, said that customer switching did not represent a barrier to entry or expansion within the gas market.
