Consumer prices up most in almost three years
Consumer prices rose by 2 per cent in the year to August, up at the highest rate in almost three years, according to the Central Statistics Office.
Consumer prices rose by 2 per cent in the year to August, up at the highest rate in almost three years, according to the Central Statistics Office.
Prices in August, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, increased by 0.6 per cent in the month. This compares to an increase of 0.2 per cent recorded in August of last year.
The most notable changes in the year were in education, up 9.6 per cent, and transport, up 8.3 per cent.
