Consumer debt judgements fall 16 per cent in Q1

The number of first quarter consumer debt judgements fell 16 per cent year-on-year, according to new figures released today by the Registry Trust.

The number of first quarter consumer debt judgements fell 16 per cent year-on-year, according to new figures released today by the Registry Trust.

The Registry Trust is the non-profit organisation that collects judgement information from jurisdictions across the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In total, there were 919 judgements registered against consumers in the first three months of 2014, down from 1,094 during the same quarter last year and 70 per cent lower than the 3,041 recording during the period in 2010.
