Consumer body to examine cost of postal scams

The National Consumer Agency (NCA) plans to investigate how much money Irish people lose in postal scams.

Brendan Moylan, assistant director at the NCA, said it was virtually impossible to trace companies operating these types of scams, since many of them used post office boxes as their address.

He said the NCA intended to conduct more detailed research next year to find out just how much money Irish consumers have lost through scams.
