More than €1 billion will be spent over the next five years by private hospital consortiums to help the government meet its commitment to free up beds for public patients in public hospitals.

More than €1 billion will be spent over the next five years by private hospital consortiums to help the government meet its commitment to free up beds for public patients in public hospitals.

“There is huge money out there, and a lot of interest from the private sector,” said Ian Hunter of Goodbody, which recently held a conference on the role of private finance in the development of the Irish healthcare sector.
