The country's largest waste company, Greenstar, has ambitious plans to double its turnover to €150 million by 2007. Earlier this year, it said it had a €100 million war chest to spend on acquisitions, partnerships and organic developments.
So far, it has bolted on two relatively small players, Kelly Recycling in the south east and WDS in Sligo.
