A new smartphone app called AMD Aware has been launched by the National Council for the Blind in Ireland (NCBI) aimed at bringing home the stark reality of life for a person with age-related macular degeneration (AMD). There are approximately 22,000 people in Ireland living with sight loss as a result of AMD.
