Confusion over insurance cover catches some consumers out

One in ten Irish households unintentionally allow insurance cover to lapse at renewal time, according to figures from online insurer Getcover.ie.

According to Getcover.ie, about 10 per cent of Ireland’s 1.5 million households lose their home or motor insurance cover around renewal time, because they believe that they have a grace period between the day their policy lapses and the payment of the premium.
