The government has failed to renew an adoption agreement with Vietnam, leaving hundreds of people who were trying to adopt children facing uncertainty.

Almost 300 people have been approved to adopt from Vietnam after going through a lengthy approval process that can take several years. However, the Irish adoption agreement with the Asian country expired last Friday, leaving them in limbo.
