Irish women who have set up a business out of necessity are among those being targeted for support by the organisers of a conference being held to mark National Women's Enterprise Day.

The County and City Enterprise boards are organising the conference, which takes place in the Heritage Hotel in Co Laois on October 17 and 18 and aims to raise awareness among female entrepreneurs of the business supports available to them.
