Concert promoter John Reynolds plans to open a 1,600-capacity music venue in Dublin in September to compete with rival MCD, owner of The Olympia.

Concert promoter John Reynolds plans to open a 1,600-capacity music venue in Dublin in September to compete with rival MCD, owner of The Olympia. Reynolds, who is running the three-day Electric Picnic music festival in September with Aiken Promotions, is spending between €3 million and €4 million on the new venue next to his Pod nightclub and Crawdaddy venue on Harcourt Street.
