Galway City Council has requested additional information from the developers of a proposed retail scheme that would include a large Tesco supermarket.

Councillors narrowly voted to change the zoning of the 9.5 acre site on Seamus Quirke Road in Rahoon earmarked for the development, against the advice of their own planners. The Department of the Environment has also raised concerns about the re-zoning.
