Concerns about nuclear power
The three greatest man-made disasters of the 20th century are said to be Hiroshima ’45,Chernobyl ’86 and Windows 95.
I’m not sure what Dr Ed Walsh’s views are on Windows technology, but he seems to have forgotten the horrors of Three Mile Island and Chernobyl in his promotion of nuclear power (Nuclear ban defies reason,18/3/07).
By asserting that nuclear power is safe, he is forgetting the basis for risk management. The two factors to consider are the likelihood of risk and the impact if the risk materialises.
