The president of the Law Society has expressed concern at the decline in ethical standards among solicitors.

The president of the Law Society has expressed concern at the decline in ethical standards among solicitors.

"There are some who appear to have forgotten the ethical foundations on which their profession has been built," James McCourt told a UCD law school conference on the future of lawyers last Wednesday.

McCourt also criticised a proposed bill to overhaul the legal profession, which he said was more "dramatic" than the legislation intended by the troika.
