Watermarque Marketing Communications, the prominent marketing firm that ceased trading last week, participated in a series of financial transactions to help fund the buy-out of Doherty Advertising, a collapsed advertising agency.

Watermarque was at the centre of a series of complex transactions in 2001 which effectively saw the company take 20 per cent in Doherty, according to documents seen by The Sunday Business Post.
