Competition watchdog concern over ICGP plans

The Competition Authority has written to the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP) expressing concern that recent actions by the GP representative body could be in breach of the Competition Act.

The authority explicitly referred to the ICGP's press release on July 17, which outlined the body's plan to withhold involvement in clinical care programmes by GPs due to the latest round of cuts imposed by the government.
