Preparing for the death or illness of a business partner

Two years ago, I formed a business partnership with another individual and our business is thriving.

However, at 68, my partner is 25 years older than me, and I’m concerned that he may die or become ill and unable to work and I’ll have to buy out his spouse. The business is probably now worth over €1,000,000 already – how can I plan for this?
