Some 2,500 people have signed a petition calling on An Bord Pleanala to facilitate commercial development in Donegal town.

In addition, a number of the town’s traders have written to the board in support of plans by Bennett Construction to build a retail scheme in which the anchor tenant would be Dunnes Stores.
