COMMENT: This government hasn't yet made tough decisions

This Wednesday's student demonstrations - against cuts in post-graduate grants - will make many in government, especially Labour TDs, feel uneasy.

It has been expected for some time that this period - which will see the construction, agreeing and passing of the coalition's first budget - would be a difficult time for Enda Kenny, his ministers and those charged with implementing their decisions and strategy.

The weekend's papers bore some evidence that media opinion of the government is becoming considerably less favourable.
