The state spends more than €1 billion a year on technology services and infrastructure, so it is time for the government to clearly identify and prioritise key technology projects in the Budget.

When those projects are up and running, the Comptroller & Auditor General should give an annual report on whether they represent value for money and whether they have increased the level of service to the public.
