Savers favour the long-term products

The latest Central Bank figures, published earlier this month, indicate that Irish depositors are placing significantly more cash within longer-term cash products, compared to the same period a year ago. The total amount in one to two year term products grew by almost €3.7 billion between May 2008 and May 2009, an increase of 90 per cent year on year, bringing the total on deposit within this category to almost €8 billion.
