Despite concerns, user-generated content is becoming dominant online, writes Cillian Barry.

Media organisations are increasingly turning to user generated content to drive their online strategy, despite concerns about the value of such ‘news’ reporting.

In the US, there has been a definite shift from media-owners creating online content to the alternative approach of allowing non-professionals to publish their own content direct to the audience.
