Comment: Credit crunch could have silver lining for Irish banks

Shares in US investment bank Lehman Brothers shot up last Friday after the Korean Development Bank said it was considering an investment in the bank.

Shares in US investment bank Lehman Brothers shot up last Friday after the Korean Development Bank said it was considering an investment in the bank.

This deal has been speculated upon since June, but confirmation from the state-owned Korean bank that it was mulling an investment lifted the stock by 16 per cent.

If a deal is done, the Korean Development Bank will become the latest Asian sovereign fund/ bank to buy into a US bank....
