Coillte to be restructured, sale plan dropped

The government has decided not to proceed with the sale of Coillte harvesting rights but to focus on restructuring the forestry organisation instead.

The government has decided not to proceed with the sale of Coillte harvesting rights but to focus on restructuring the forestry organisation instead.

Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney said the government had decided that now was not the appropriate time to proceed with the sale.

"The Government decided that the annual delivery of a material financial dividend to the State be prioritised as part of the restructuring of Coillte”, Coveney said.
