Leading Adam’s sale on November 22 is Jack B Yeats’s Merrion Strand, from the late 1920s and expected to realise €300,000–€500,000. It features two young working-class women selling their flowers and fruit to trippers enjoying a day by the sea. It would play an important role in Yeats’s future. Exhibited at his first solo show, it eventually led to his coming under the wing of the most influential dealer of the time, Victor Waddington....
