Coalition might not withstand another austerity budget

If the Department of Finance's growth predictions for 2014 are as wrong as they were for this year, we may be facing another harsh budget, writes Pat Leahy.

The big facts of Irish political and governmental life are mostly unpleasant economic ones. They include the massive national debt and the ongoing, huge (if shrinking) annual budget deficit, which increases the overall debt every year.
