Lorcan Cunningham was a man waiting for the market to catch up with his vision. He had the business idea for his company, SaveNet, a full five years before it would launch, but the bandwidth wasn't available to facilitate his plan to sell online backup and disaster recovery (DR) services.

Broadband changed everything. "ADSL lines that were much cheaper than leased lines started to become available and that made it all possible," he said.
