Irish piano maestro John O'Conor was quite open about his feelings during the judging of the ninth Dublin International Piano Competition last year at which he was jury foreman.

"I did not want to give first prize in such a prestigious competition to such a young performer as Nikolay, but this lad played like a young god of the piano so how could we not give him the support his immense talent so richly deserves?"...
