More than 500 young musicians will experience the thrill of playing on the stage of the National Concert Hall (NCH) next Saturday when the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras has its big day out.

It’s a big day too for the association’s newly-appointed acting director Clare Daly, who has just returned to live and work in Ireland.

Daly, a bassoonist, is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and has lived in Russia...
