At the end of 2010, Opera Theatre Company (OTC) was on life support. Its future looked non-existent - it had announced "the final production of our 25-year existence" with The Diary of Anne Frank in the Peacock Theatre. We went along and offered our condolences. "Shame", "scandal", "disaster" - just some of the words that floated around in the air that night.

But the patient did not expire - it's too complicated a tale to go...
