The opera, a parody on English social habits and mores, is being staged by the Young Artists of the New National Theatre Opera Studio in Tokyo.
Bredin says the part came ‘‘like a bolt from the blue. I was really shocked, it happened so suddenly. Now I am so excited about the challenge.”
