Celine Byrne excels in La Boheme

* In her first major opera role, soprano Celine Byrne from Naas, Co Kildare has made an acclaimed debut as Mimi in La Boheme for Scottish Opera.

The singer’s first-night performance in the Theatre Royal, Glasgow, was universally praised by critics although the modernised production by Tony Award-winning director Stewart Laing of Puccini’s masterpiece, given a New York setting, received mixed reactions.
