Opera goes into overdrive for the next couple of months, starting with Opera Ireland’s productions of Don Pasquale and Cosi fan tutte at the Royal Dublin Society all this week.

These overlap with the opening of the Wexford Festival Opera next Thursday at Johnstown Castle outside Wexford, an event which lasts until June 17 and contains seven works, long and short.

The festival opens with Kurt Weill’s Der Silbersee which is seldom performed nowadays...
