Celine Byrne, the Co Kildare soprano, is fully justified in trading on her victory as winner of the Maria Callas Grand Prix early last year.

Though she has not been short of job offers since then, this concert was the first occasion in which she fully displayed the talent that swayed the international jury in Athens.
