CIF warning of 20,000 job losses

The Construction Industry Federation has warned that 20,000 more people could lose their jobs in the building sector this year.

The Construction Industry Federation has warned that 20,000 more people could lose their jobs in the building sector this year.

Further job losses are also likely next year if the economic climate does not improve, according to the CIF. A spokesman for the CIF said employment in the sector stood at 270,000 people, down from 287,000 people at the height of the construction boom.
