Cash-strapped CIE is expected to make €20 million from the sale of its fibre-optic cable network, amid growing political pressure on the company to address its financial crisis urgently through the sale of non-core assets.

The company also expects to raise around €25 million through the sale of properties at the IFSC and Spencer Dock in Dublin.

Industry sources indicated that ESB Telecoms and Vodafone are in the final shake-up for the sale by CIE...
